Located on the sunny mountainsie high above Naturno in the Venosta Valley of Alto-Adige (Italy), at the foot of Monte Sole, is the Falkenstein vineyard, owned by the Pratzner family for 200 years.
The 100% Pinot Noir (yes, Blauburgunder is another fun way of saying Pinot Noir) is fermented for 14 in large oak barrels with malolactic fermentation taking place, before further maturation in barriques for one year, large oak for another 7 months and then resting in bottle for another year. With no fining or filtration, it's also a natural example of the quality wines coming from this cool mountain region.
Aromas of wild berries and delicate cherry with finely structured tannins.
