Les Galimadres parcel of Giraud's vineyards has been there longer than the domaine, making it no surprise that it's a rich blend of classic Chateauneuf-du-Pape terrain with large pebbles that concentrate the flavours in the 100 year old vines of Grenache and Syrah.
A cuvée of Syrah and Grenache, it ages in concrete vats for 18 months with only the Syrah spending time in aged Bordeaux barrels to enhance its structure. Attractive, intense blood-red colour, the wine shows an elegant nose with strawberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit. Powerful on the palate, it’s full-bodied yet smooth with flavours of apple & cherry compote, raspberry tinged with liquorice, white pepper and wild herbs.
